Description
Aptly named “The
Hawaiian Aquarium”, the Maui Ocean Center is the only aquarium in
the world dedicated to fostering understanding, wonder and respect for
Hawaii’s marine life. The three-acre marine park, the largest tropical
reef aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, provides information, tours by
marine naturalists and exhibits on thousands of indigenous fish, sharks,
turtles, stingrays and other fascinating marine animals.
Program
encourages visitors to develop an understanding and appreciation of
Hawaii’s marine environment while perpetuating the island’s host culture
through presentations and exhibits.
Maui Ocean
Center features more than 60 self-paced interactive exhibits; two
restaurants (Seascape Ma’alaea Restaurant and Reef Café); and the Maui
Ocean Center gift shop.
