Aloha, I have always been fascinated by
photography. From the fist time I saw a photo of my German Sheppard dog
appear on photo paper in my fathers darkroom when I was 8 years old I
have been hooked on Photography. I got my first camera in high school
and the first picture I ever took was of the sun and clouds at Kapalua
Bay on Maui. That photo went on to win the State of Oregon High School
Photo of the year. Not a bad way to start. I decided to go to Brooks
Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara California after graduating in
Communications from the University of Oregon. After receiving another
degree in The Brooks Institute of Photography I opened a photos studio
in Portland, Oregon and did advertising photography work for Nike,
Cannon, Jantzen, Weston Hotels and many others. I have been published in
magazines such as Bon Appatit, Oceans, Sea Ray Living and National
Geographic. I have also had the privilege of traveling the world and
shooting orphanages to help raise money for children without families.
After 15 years of corporate photography, I was ready to take my
photography in a different direction.
In 1999 my family and I moved to Maui and I decided to specialize in
destination wedding photography. Over the past 6 years, I have shot over
1,000 weddings in Hawaii and am now more excited about shooting weddings
than ever before. I have always believed that photographers need to stay
up on what is new in the world of photography. I often travel to the
Mainland to attend seminars on digital photography and to stay current
on the latest trends in wedding photography and to find new products to
offer to my clients. Advances in technology over the past year have
catapulted digital photography past the film world and the future is now
all digital.
This past year I made a decision to become exclusively a Wedding Book
maker. This is the latest in wedding photography products. The new
Wedding Books we now offer have sparked a new interest in how I shoot
weddings. After years of producing multimedia projects for Nike and
other corporate clients, I have become a storyteller of products. I love
tell the story with pictures. I now feel that with the digital
technology available today, wedding photographers need to be
storytellers. I have a head start with this because of the years of
experience I had in the corporate world. Now applying this skill of
story telling to weddings is very natural to me.
Shooting weddings for me is more demanding than just shooting
traditional wedding photography. I always shoot the traditional
ceremony, portrait and group shots, but I also shoot details,
backgrounds and any other shots that will capture the moment in a
natural way and tell the story. Over the years of shooting weddings we
have developed the techniques and resources to offer you the best
wedding photography and productions available today. Our vow is to give
you beautiful wedding photos that will tell your whole wedding story. I
want you to relive your very special day in every detail when you pick
up your book. |
